Amy Waddell • Our Director

Born in Athens, Greece and raised by fine artists, Waddell has a strong visual sense that compliments her vivid storytelling ability. Before directing her first full-length feature film, "Brothel" (2008), (Vanguard Cinema distributor) Waddell directed the short "The Mask Maker", which was selected for twenty film festivals, and won, among numerous awards, a gold medal for "best short" at the Chicago International Film Festival. Waddell made the film after being selected as one of eight women to participate in the prestigious Directing Workshop for Women (DWW) at the American Film Institute. In 2010 Waddell completed a feature documentary in which 10 exceptional Native Americans shared their knowledge during an 18 day white water river rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. She has written and produced several humanitarian documentaries on Darfur, India and Israel for Charles Annenberg Weingarten's philanthropic organization explore.org. She is a graduate of USC Film School. She has penned screenplays and fiction, and has worked in the industry as a writer, director and film editor. Her award-winning documentary, The Reluctant Muse, which she wrote, directed and produced, aired nationally on PBS.

Kate Hawkes •Program & Outreach Administrator and Coordinator

Originally from Australia, Kate has created and managed outreach programs for arts organizations, while also serving as a freelance theatre professional for over 45+ years. She taught theatre at a liberal arts college for 18 years, founded a healthcare arts program that focused on storytelling/performance and toured. While Artistic Associate at a professional theatre company she developed and ran a major outreach program, using theatre arts for mental health and communication skills training in a variety of settings. As Founder/Producing Artistic Director of Red Earth Theatre in Sedona, she has produced storytelling projects with veterans, as well as a wide range of theatrical endeavors. Kate is a produced playwright and published author who writes screenplays as well as a theatre director, actress, horsewoman, and trail runner.
 

Kate developed Performing Wellness ™ an arts based program for processing trauma; her books PERSONAL MAGIC: Conscious Empowerment through Creativity & Spirit, a 'manual' for responsible wellbeing and 'Finding Thanksgiving' a collection of poetry and photos are available on Amazon, Her writing can also be found on Substack at 'Wanderings with Kate’  Kate has also worked a Production Manager and Line Producer on short films, including 'High School Detention The Musical'. Ann Greer • PR Marketing

Ann worked in Arts Education Programming for The Music Center, LA; was Managing Producer of Educational Theater Company, reaching 250,000 kids per year with touring shows, and increasing revenues from $60,000 per year to $300,000. Ann also did marketing for Norman Lear’s Embassy Home Ent., was the GM for East Texas Home Video, and Wherehouse Entertainment’s Director of Sales, responsible for a budget of over one million dollars.
